Hold Your Children To Your Heart ...

I just got a phone call from a friend from Gleaners.
She told me about my friend Trish.
She lost her son last week.
He took a pill someone at school had given him to "help him sleep".
He told her he was going to take a nap - and never woke up.

He was only 17.

My heart goes out to Trish and her family.
I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to lose a child.

Please hold this family in your prayers today.
And hold your children close to your heart.

  1. That is awful, a parent's worst nightmare. One of my friends lost a son in a car accident a couple of months ago.

  9. Wow. What a tragic story. I wonder if they will determine what was in the pill and who will get prosecuted for his death? Such things are common these days but it doesn't make it right.

  10. That is awful. I'm so sorry--I can't imagine what Trish is going through right now. Such a senseless death. I don't even have words to express my heartache for her and for their family.

I can't imagine how the kid who gave her son the pill must be feeling just now. That young person will live with this tragedy for the rest of his/her life.

For both families, this is a horrible tragedy. I shall be praying for them all.

  11. Tell Trish, 21 years ago, I buried my baby son.

From one bereaved mum to another, tell her to cry.
