MandM Escape - Signs, Signs!
I was filling my car with gasoline, trying to avoid looking at the mounting "total".
My eye was drawn to the building which also included a small store.
I had to laugh at this M&M Dude trying desperately to escape through the glass of the store.
I wonder if the attendant (I live in Oregon and we aren't allowed to pump our own gas) heard my giggling as I pulled out my camera to get this shot through the windshield???

The Future's So Bright ...
Jae Jae was sleeping in Grampa's "spot" this morning ...
I couldn't help but mess with her.
She didn't seem to mind, either!

Grocery Outlet Cart Heart
I was putting the groceries into my car, and was loading the last bag ... when I looked down and saw this heart in the bottom of the shopping cart.
It had been there the whole time!

A Traffic Kind of Day ...
First I got stuck in a line of traffic behind this truck when he unexpectedly pulled out in front of us ... and we had to follow him for miles. Slowly. Sigh.
The sign on the back of his truck said not to follow him ... but what if the alternative was driving into the ditch?????

This time the culprit for the traffic snarl was road construction!
Then it started raining.
Perfect to catch reflections ... my headlights in the car in front of me, the landscape on the hood of my car!

The wait was worth it, though, when I noticed that the car in front of me was sporting heart-shaped brake lights!!!

Only 1 Home Left!
The construction slump has hit hard here, as it has nearly everywhere.
But I had to giggle when I came across the sign for "new homes", touting "Only 1 left" ... in front of a swampy field full of birds ... and ONE house.
So ... either they built only the one house ... or the rest sank into the muck???

Somewhere in France ... I think!
I have been working on converting a bunch of negatives to digital format, to replace photos lost over the years (mostly when the roof leaked on my box of memories) ...
This particular photo was taken while on a tour bus trip we took to France back in 1984(ish). (How I wish I had labeled those negative folders!!!)
Don't you just love that drop-down gate? I would hate to be standing under it when it came down!!!
It's "Fridays Fences" time over at Jan and Jer's - come join us to see amazing fence "posts" from around the world!
P.S. Do you wonder how I am converting my negatives? I put together a "negative to positive conversion kit" - for FREE! To see how I did it - and you can too! - visit my Random Finds post that explains the whole process!

Willamette River, January
I posted this picture of the sun on the Willamette River back in October.
It was taken at a tiny park near Newberg, Oregon, and I had to climb down a huge embankment to get to the edge of the water.
Note the tree trunk to the right of the shot ...
Because I went back to the same spot last week, after our flooding rains ...

Remember that tree trunk?
It's under the water, just in front of and to the left of the sign (which is usually quite high on the bank).

There was a lot of debris floating downstream - like this entire tree!
It was still raining hard, so I covered my camera and ran back to the car.
I am linking this with Tina's "PicStory" - where the theme this week is "A Walk in the Park"!
(Although for me it was more like a RUN and SLIP in the park!)

Raindrop Reflections
A drop of water,
A wintertime grape vine,
A distant fir tree,
A moment of blue sky ...
What a combination!!!

Broken Fence
The fence and gate lay broken on the ground ...
Done in by time, weather, and vandals.
I took a shot of what was left, and kicked the pieces aside ...
Then I thought - it's "Fridays Fences" time!

I've Stopped Listening ...
Someone, who shall remain nameless (yes, it's a relative, must I claim them???), was visiting my parents.
I found this old sign, and hung it up near the door.
They didn't take the hint.
Sigh ...
My ears still hurt.
