The Tree Won

I was walking down our curvy country road, when I saw the aftermath of a car-versus-tree.
The yellow sign in the rear window said not to call 911 - the accident had actually happened around Christmas.

Then I had a Mr. Toad moment and was compelled to climb down the hill and take a closer look at the wreckage.

There wasn't much left of the Mazda, just a bunch of scrap metal reflecting the beauty of the forest back at me.

When I zoomed in to get a better look ... I even found a heart!
Therefore, this qualifies as both a "Weekend Reflection",
and a "Guest Heart Thursday"!!!

I hope the person/s involved in this accident are okay - nothing has been in the newspaper so I'm thinking this was a very expensive lesson that the tree ALWAYS wins - and given the empty case of beer on the back seat ... DON'T drive after drinking. PLEASE.

  5. Howdy Clytie
I had to come and read this after seeing your heart shaped mushroom :)
Wow hearts really do follow you around and even march ahead of you awaiting your arrival .
Thank you for this wonderful life lesson .
Yes the tree always wins !
    Never under estimate nature .
While I hope the people involved are all okay ,I do pray that those nasty scrape marks on the tree will heal quickly !Poor Trees people always seem to want to hit them with metal objects .
    Love and hugs from Texas
    Until next time
    Happy Trails

  6. By the looks of that other tree, it must of had some battles with cars, too!

I guess this just proves that you can find reflections, AND HEARTS, just about anywhere!

  9. The contrast of "man" vs nature here is quite eye opening. Your reflective heart shows that even when us humans mess things up pretty bad,.. God shows His heart and reflects Love, Compassion, Beauty and Hope back at us...

As always dear Clytie, your heart and soul shine in your words and photography.

    Blessings to you and yours.
    Love and Light,
    Nina P

  10. Wow--it isn't a laughable thing, except to say I loved your description of a "Mr. Toad" moment. I would have done the same.

Trees always win over cars. I hope the person was alright. I do--and I pray people will think before they drive with a drink under their belt.
