I think almost everyone has had one of these in their landscape a time or two.
People spend lots and lots of time and money trying to eradicate these flowery "pests".
Before you mow them over this year ...
Or pull them out by their (very long!) tap roots ...
Or poison them out of existence ...
Take a closer look ...
Inside a dandelion flower ...
And so full of life?

Now I really must go ... it's supposed to rain later today, and I want to get some yard work done before the storm hits.
Must pull up those darn pesky dandelions before they go to seed!!!
I actually love the dandelions in my yard and so do my grandkids!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly do have their own beauty. I personally don't mind them until they get bigger than the flowers I'm trying to grow. Hubby, however, feels it's his duty to eradicate them all from the lawn!
ReplyDeleteCount me out from the hate squad. I have always loved them. Nice shots.
ReplyDeleteWonderfull yellow color
ReplyDeleteHave a Nice sunday Easter
Whoa! Thats so macro! Amazing clear shots! I love them dandelions. They are so chill =) #iheartmacro
ReplyDeleteBeautiful close ups! I love the little bug. Dandelions are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI especially love that wonderful bug
ReplyDeleteI have heard way to much about the poisons people use on their lawns..I think I would much rather see the dandelions. Beautiful photos! Thank you for linking up to my critter party. Enjoy your day and Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteThe "life" was really a nice contrast to the dandelion. I try to get rid of the dandelions because they try to dominate the lawn... And the foliage is not so nice!
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous shots. That little green beetle is so pretty up close.
ReplyDeleteI, for one, am not a hater of dandelions!
ReplyDeleteSwing Close-Up

ReplyDeleteWow, Sissy!!! How cool is this?! I've always heard the Dandelion is the world's most perfect flower. (Grin) Now I see why! Gorgeous macro! (GRIN)
ReplyDeleteThe stamens are great with their curled tips. I'm trying to get up the courage to try eating the flowers. I feed the tops to my bunny who thinks they are great, and have made tea from the roots and even once long ago some dandelion wine. The problem is that if I let them go to seed they will come up solid in the yard. So I fight.
ReplyDeleteLovely macro-shots!
ReplyDeleteI have never said the blossoms are unsightly - I agree they are fascinating!! But the leaves are not all that great to walk on...
ReplyDeletesuch lovely images

wonder how they became the enemy
and they are beautiful too
