New on Old

There are many fir trees in the woods behind the house. This one had an odd tilt to its base that made me curious. As I rounded the other side of the tree, I saw why! This beautiful fir grew out of the stump of an old growth log ... which is now rotting away. This has to be a place where fairies come out to play "castle", don't you think?

Fairy Tea Party

When we were young
We dreamed of big things
We dreamed of little things too
Like how the fairies, gnomes and elves
Would drink from the tiny cups
We would find in the woods
And fill with water
So our friends wouldn't be thirsty
And we'd put out little tiny pieces of bread
So they wouldn't be hungry
I remember our tea parties well
Do they?
