Vandalizm - Weekend Reflections

The broken window glass reflects the flowering plum tree just outside ...

Recent rains, leaking roof - reflect the graffiti.

The late afternoon sun filtering through the broken window create a soft reflective glow.

And highlight someone's art.

A final statement.

These photos were taken at an abandoned and vandalized mega-church near my house. I often hear the vandalism in progress - breaking glass, banging metal, laughter of children.
It is very sad.
It makes me stop and reflect.

  1. Oh, WOW! I con't know which one I like best. That first one just fills my eyes. Stunning. Each one is beautiful for a different reason.

Sissy--these are just wonderful. Looking forward to seeing you later today!

  2. These are all so good. The church vandalism is such a shame, abandoned or not. I love the broken glass...that so easily could have been overlooked.

  3. What a wonderful collection! At least something of value can come from something so senseless. The final image is so apt! Nice to see you in this meme. I shall try to see your offering next week too. I like your take on the world around you.

  4. Such an interesting series of reflections. Isn't ironic that something as lovely as a flowering plum tree is reflected in shards of destruction?
You have a good eye for finding beauty in unusual places.

  7. With God all things are possible. Even making Beauty our of vandalism. Your work/art brings a passion and compassion to the soul. It Is truly reflective, anger, sorrow, shame, sadness, finality, and yet, there is a possibility, hope, Light, changing, even joyousness that can be found. Where some see only the negative, you dear soul, see the Beauty that God creates. Even in the darkness of humanity, His Light Shines though your eyes and soul. Thank you for sharing your reflections. You truly have a Blessed and talented family. Love and Light, Nina P

  12. These children do not have parents. There is a growing number of children across America whose parents do not care for them and most do not know where their children are at. If they get in trouble they often throw a fit for the benefit of local police but disappear when the last squad car drives away. When children tear up churches or anything at night, why aren't the parents out looking for them to get them in bed?

    Amazing stories.
