Pages from an Altered Book ... For Darlene

My first attempt at collage ... you really need to look close for the details on this one.

My first 'mixed media'. Hmmmmmm

My kids learned this technique in middle school - to take a picture, cut it in half, and try to match the picture with your own art. I chose watercolor .

This post is dedicated to the wonderful Darlene at A Dancing Mango.
She is an amazing artist - and has encouraged me to share what I've done.

I'm not sure I would have had the courage otherwise. Thank you, Darlene!

  1. I'm impressed, you've definitely got artistic talent. That's something I don't have, I can never create things like these.

  2. Great job on those. Very artistic and creative. OBTW several people who commented on my "Monochrome Lake" post for Phun Phriday! wondered how it was done, so I posted a tutorial on it today. If you're interested just click here. Thanks for dropping by and your comment.

  5. Sissy!!! You SEE--I'm right, you ARE an artist--I'm with Abe--that first one is extraordinary. And I loved the watercolor, and the composition of the swirlies! Gorgeous--fill my eyes, they do.

  6. Very nice.

I have made two altered books. One was about Paris (and took me two years) for my now SIL who has been there several times.

I had always planned to make myself one about Italy (just because), but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm too busy altering other things. lol
