Early Morning Surprise!

And what a surprise it was!
A strange noise had rousted me from my comfortable chair ...

All of those cars pulled off the side of the road ...
Something special is happening!

Their ride was over ...
But they finished spectacularly!

And worked feverishly to put away the balloon ...

Before they left.
But not before the riders booked another trip!
In 2 weeks.

  1. Very cool! I was just looking into taking a hot air balloon ride on my vacation but it's way too expensive. It sure looks fun though.

  3. Isn't that a weird sound when one floats (I can't honestly say 'flies') overhead?

We had one go over years ago and I can still recall how it sounded, and how effortlessly it floated across the sky.

Have you ever been to the balloon festival in Tigard? We went one year a long time ago. We got there at dawn to watch them set up and take off. It was great! I'd love to go back now that I have a much better camera.

You had asked me a few posts back how I find out about our local events (like the Cracked Pots show). Since I had been to that event before I kept tabs on it, but I believe it's the same time every year. They have a website (crackedpots.org). Generally I just google for local events, or to keep up on those I know about, or to find out about new ones that I've heard of.

  5. Very fun post. That building they landed next to looks very much like the abandoned mega-church...

  10. Very pretty hot air balloon, but that is one thing I have never wanted to do. I like to keep both feet planted on the ground. LOL Have a great Sunday.
