Oregon City Falls

The falls are flowing heavy with run-off from our winter rains.

If you enlarge this, you will see a pair of intrepid gulls ... drifting dangerously close to the abyss.

And then flying off at the last possible second ...

Extreme Seagull Games!!!
(They make it look so easy!)

  1. A sight I know well having grown up in the area, and one that I see quite often driving down 99E as often as I do.

  4. Isn't the power and beauty of water just awesome. You don't realize how powerful it is until you stand in a wave or a fast moving stream. It is a force I love and respect at the same time.
Crazy Seagulls...it's easy to take risks if you know you can fly away when you are swept over the edge.

  5. How funny! I loved the idea of extreme seagul games! I often wonder about those kamakazi birds who fly in front of my car when I'm doing 55 on the freeway!

    EEEeeeek!

Brave little things, don't you think? Wonderful photo! I miss the OC falls--these photos truly fill my eyes and my heart with nostolgia.

I'm looking forward to seeing you TOMORROW! It just can't get here fast enough.

  7. Of course they know they can just fly away - whereas we would indecorously plummet to the bottom!

And yes, Clytie, I did see the "eye."

  8. Well, the ones that don't make it when they play seagull games are the dead ones...
But that is an incredible waterfall! I want to see it in person!
