Attack of the Green Slime!

I went for a walk and found a dried up puddle.

Well, mostly dry.
The area was covered with algae
Some dry, some still bubbly.

The patterns and colors captivated me.
Green slime indeed!

  5. I love all the different textures in the slime, Clytie! Hope your niece's surgery went well. You asked about the iris leaves - yes, they started out green, but the freezing temperatures have caused so many freeze/thaw cycles that the leaves have turned this colour. They are dead, and the roots will send up new ones come spring. Since I cut mine back, I don't get this effect.
