Steady Light of Hope

There is a story behind this lamp. But first I have to say something about a very special person, Nina P., whose blog helped me so much today. I wanted so badly to visit my mom and dad, who is still in the hospital after their car accident. Time, money and other commitments have kept me home. I was stuck in a rut of blackness and despair ... so much responsibility, so much bitterness.

Then I read Nina P.'s blog ... about searching for and finding the steady light of hope. I was reminded of the story behind this lamp ... Thank you, Nina, from the bottom of my (chastened!) heart.

Now about the lamp ..... my mom bought this lamp, light bulb still inside, at a yard sale on the 4th of July while she was staying with my sister for a few days. She had it in the car when "the accident" happened. It, along with everything else in the car, tumbled and rolled up the freeway.

My sister found the lamp and brought it to me. It looked good, though a little wobbly. I plugged it in. The light bulb burned bright. The light bulb -- the one that tumbled with the car over and over -- still burned bright!!!

I found my steady light of hope, Nina P.!!!!!!! Thank you.

  1. Oh, Sissy--you're right. What Nina wrote is PERFECT. How on earth is that possible? Well that's the thing. It is one of those little miracles with no explanation, other than the fact that God LOVES you very VERY much.

    ((hugs))

By the way, Mums actually bought that lamp for you and your girls. ((HUGS))

  2. I am humbled by your kind words. A heartfelt Thank you Clytie. You too bring wisdom and joy, more than you know, through your photo’s and wise words. Your random hearts bring smiles and amazement as you find hearts where most see none. You are truly a kind and gentle soul. This lamp, Your Steady Light of Hope is an amazing story in and of itself. May you find comfort in its glow and may God Bless you and your family and grant you Healing and strength during this difficult time. Love and Light, Nina P.

  3. What an inspirational story and the lamp is so pretty! I have a thing for lamps and I probably would not have been able to resist this one. I like the birdbath behind it too!
