I found this tree near the road I was strolling down this afternoon. It was obviously in the last stages of its life. It's bark was peeled showing the wood and burls beneath. I feel like this tree is still laughing - no matter what.
Wow! What an amazing photo--what an incredible tree. I can see a face to the left, but the attitude of the entire tree is, as you say, one of laughter.
A great lesson--when life kicks you in the stomach grin...and feel better for it. As we grow older, we glory in our wrinkles and white hair. (grin)
As life changes, I find myself far from what my dreams had imagined. Reality has found me caring for my elderly mom who is sliding deeper into Alzheimers ... every day has become a unique challenge. The best I can do is to try to life as normal as possible for those around me.

Wonderful amazing beautiful photo, Sissy!
I'll bet it still a shelter for all kinds of critters big and small...full of bugs for woodpeckers too. No wonder it's laughing!
